The second Mercury retrograde of 2026 is making a big splash in the zodiac sign Cancer. From June 29 to July 23, we will be riding the emotional waves of the water sign, dipping our toes into past drama and our pincers into frustrating situations. This retrograde might be one of the messiest and most dramatic of the year, particularly because Mercury in Cancer speaks fast and wants others to know what we're feeling intuitively. The Moon controls the tides of the ocean, and living beings are composed of 60 to 75% water, so it’ll directly influence our endeavors on a personal and intimate level.
Mercury retrograde in Cancer urges us to reflect on our memories and define our sentiments through a different lens. Our comforts and our sense of loyalty will be tested. We may find that people aren’t our allies in the ways we need them to be, and that the support we give is one-sided. Our relationships with family, community, and home will be erratic, forcing us to take steps to protect and nurture ourselves. Healing is a process, and we are seeing that our hearts require extra care to release old wounds.

Keep in mind that the retrograde doesn't completely end on July 23.
