The current political climate of the world is very heated and unpredictable. Astrologically, we can blame Uranus, the planet of discord, revolution, and rebellion. Uranus urges us to break free of constraints and evolve as a community at large.

On July 7, 2025, the United States of America and Donald Trump begin their Uranus (the “great awakener”) returns, when the reformative planet enters Gemini. Uranus returns occur every 84 years, marking a time of self-discovery. Since Trump and the U.S.’s Uranus signs are exact by degree in the sky, we can look to the end of 2027 (when it occurs) as a significant turning point for the country. Since Uranus transits last up to 7 years, there is plenty of time for societal shifts. The years ahead will be met with sudden changes in the country brought on by Trump.

The summer of 2025 is showing us that history is repeating itself. When the United States officially entered World War II, Uranus was at 27 degrees. This is important because tensions were brewing in our foreign relations when Uranus was at those degrees this past spring. Now that Uranus is moving into the same sign that consumed most of WW II, we might be moving into a similar time of turbulence.

Neptune, in the sign of Aries, was last in the fire sign in the mid to late 1800s during the Civil War and a global time of unrest. We see similar trends unfolding in front of our eyes. However, with Saturn and the healing centaur Chiron close by Neptune during this 13 year transit, we may see many transformations happen to the state of the government in a hope to ban people together — but it’ll work against the aspirations at play because Pluto is in Aquarius, where it was during the Revolutionary War — so we are pushing back against the dogma and authority. This is vital because the protests are a flex of Uranus. Not only are we seeing that the world is evolving, but through resistance. We will be using our voices through Uranus in Gemini, pushing us to fight back and to assert our desires and liberties.

February 20, 2026, is a time of momentous news because Saturn and Neptune unite in Aries. This is a turning point for the collective in viewing the political landscape. It’s a period of fight or flight. Many people may leave the United States and have homes in different countries or try to form their own state. Either way, change is coming.

Another planet to check out is Jupiter, which is known for its global expansion and affairs. With the United States having recently completed its Jupiter return in Gemini on June 9, it’ll be interesting to see how our Cancer-born nation fairs with the expansive planet aspecting its Sun. Iran’s Jupiter return is beginning, allowing them to reevaluate their standing. We might see Iran come through this stronger than before.

These astrological aspects are pivotal in the political landscape of 2025 and 2026. Seeking changes can define us as a nation or tear us apart.
