WHAT IS THE SUMMER SOLSTICE?
Friday, June 20, 2025, 7:42 PM PST/10:42 PM EDT
The Summer Solstice marks the longest day and shortest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. The Sun is at its absolute peak, blazing in all its glory, sitting high in the sky like the drama queen it is. Energetically, this is the moment of radiant climax: expansion, illumination, confidence, creativity, and yes—power.
Whether you’re dancing under the sun or hiding in the shade with SPF 100, this is a time for honoring light, life force, and your ability to shine.
THEMES TO WORK WITH:
Inner fire & solar plexus magic
Joy, play, expression
Personal power & confidence
Manifesting with heat + momentum
Releasing what dims your shine
Seasonal renewal + pleasure
EASY WAYS TO HONOR THE SUMMER SOLSTICE (NO ALTAR REQUIRED)
If you’re burnt out, broke, or just overbooked, don’t worry, witch. Here’s what you can do last-minute:
Sit in the sun for 15 minutes — eyes closed, hand over your belly. Let the warmth charge you.
Dress in gold, orange, or red — solar colors for solar magic.
Eat something ripe and sweet — strawberries, mangoes, watermelon. Taste the sun.
Light a candle and speak your intentions aloud — one sentence is enough.
Burn a limiting belief on a piece of paper — then safely burn it. The solstice is for release and rebirth.
A SOLSTICE RITUAL:
You’ll need:
1 yellow or orange candle
A mirror
A journal
Sun-safe space (patio, window, or even a candle-lit room if the sun is gone)
Instructions:
Light your candle.
Sit facing the mirror. Look into your own eyes. Speak out loud:
“I am the sun. I am the light. I am the fire that never dims.”In your journal, write what you’re ready to release now that you’ve outgrown the shadows.
(Optional) Burn the paper in a fire-safe dish, or tear it up dramatically.
The solstice is not about perfection; it’s about power. If you do nothing else, let yourself feel alive today. Say something brave. Wear something ridiculous. Dance like the sun is watching because it is.
