Mercury Retrograde in Sagittarius and Scorpio 2025

On November 9, Mercury retrograde commences in Sagittarius. Mercury moonwalks into Scorpio on November 18, moving backward in the water sign until the 29th, when the cycle completes. The final Mercurial backspin of 2025 will be intense — so prepare for drama and a reckoning of the past.
Throughout the three week journey, Mercury retrograde will connect with four other planets, all of whom are retrograde as well: Jupiter retrograde in Cancer, which initiates on November 11, heightens the energy and makes us more sentimental; Saturn retrograde in Pisces dismantle boundaries and asks us to set limits with others in a way that works for us; Neptune retrograde in Pisces makes us nostalgic and yearn for the past — especially the visions that we want to bring to fruition; finally, Uranus retrograde in Taurus shakes up the dynamic, making us feel unsettled as our limitations are shifting.
Since most planets are in water signs (Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune), we will be lost in our emotions. It's OK to have a good cry and let all residual sentiments pour out, even if that means crashing out in the process. Due to the cosmic lineup, going inward and solitude might be necessary. Taking time for ourselves is essential as we rethink and reassess the current events in our lives.
Look back to the story that began on October 21, when the pre-shadow started to understand the story you are dealing with. The post-shadow, known as “retroshade,” ends on December 16/17 (depending on your time zone), allowing us to embark on the last weeks of the year with grace.
As with every Mercury retrograde, watch out for miscommunications, travel delays, and technological failures. Be kind to yourself and to others because we are all in this together. Energy is contagious, so think before you speak and be aware of everyone’s feelings. Self-care is the best medicine for issues caused by this retrograde. Be good to yourself!
