Which Goddess or Goddess Archetype do you most identify with and why?

I don't think of myself as a god- per say, but I identify with the mysterious Minoan snake goddess of ancient Knossos. Historians don't know everything about her because the "Linear A" texts of those people have still yet to be deciphered. The figurines discovered of her reveal that she (and probably many women of that androgynous island people) bares her breasts proudly atop some sort of colorful corset, holding snakes in her hands- probably representing rebirth and constant change.  The Minoans, as well as the Ancient Greeks, revered snakes as protectors, and in Dionysian cults, they symbolized wisdom.

Some say She was the goddess of fertility and sexuality and her worship was connected with an orgiastic cult. Her temples were decorated with serpentine motifs. I suppose she's the more loving and feminine version of Dionysus in a way...

I could be very happy in a beautiful temple full of serpentine motifs, healthy snakes and people coming by to have ritualistic sex for my pleasure.

How do you get in touch with/unleash your inner goddess ?

I get myself alone in a room, usually late at night.

What is your Goddess superpower?

Knowing that I come from dust and will return to dust.

What inspires you?

Being alone; being with friends (usually people I work with or admire or sleep with); ancient history books in lonely libraries (from ancient Babylonian studies to Ancient Greece to Hollywood Babylon); films (especially good ones); music (especially music written without profit in mind); architecture; animals in nature; wild natural habitats as well as controlled nature (parks and gardens); museums (especially art museums); cemeteries.

When traveling, I will always attempt a visit to the main art museum(s) and at least one cemetery. I am also invigorated and inspired when walking in neighborhoods and looking at houses at dusk. I walk a lot in Los Angeles. I love the houses of east Hollywood and I will saunter about, admittedly touching on the edge of voyeurism. And although I sometimes abhor humans, I very much enjoy savoring the dusty left overs of their fascinating achievements...

What are you reading at the moment?

I just finished a lovely book by M.F.K. Fisher called "The Theoretical Foot." I highly recommend that unknown classic. Also, I literally just put down Yuval Noah Harari's "Homo Deus," "The Cement Garden" by Ian McEwan, "The Satanic Witch" by Anton Szandor LaVey (recommended by you!), and "I, Claudius" by Robert Graves.  At the moment I am going between Angela Carter's "Nights at the Circus," trying to focus on Shelley's and Byron's major works unabridged; Abdel Bari Atwan's "Islamic State," and Gore Vidal's "Creation." With my new band and rehearsing for our first show, I have been slightly distracted...  But any chance I get alone, I will most likely be reading or watching a film (anything from 1896 til now/ cult or classic- I watch at least 4 films a week) with my midnight meals.

Your music videos and photos are all very rich in symbolism... esoteric and cheeky. Where do you come up with the concepts for your music videos?

After whatever project I have just finished, I will most likely enter into a Dionysian, gluttonous period of partying, "relaxing", and writing music with copious amounts of alcohol and...well, ya booze. Through these revelries, I will have off-days of recuperation in which I will go on those long walks I spoke of before... or rifle through old books (old photo books with large paintings are good). Usually the combination of something I see or letting my mind wander; taking notes on tiny notebooks always in my bag- this will become the bait for some sort of main idea which I will base the production around. It also has to have something within it that empowers me personally, and this is why I most often place myself within my videos and films. I want to enter into my own world, because it is the only place where I can be and experience the ideas in my own way, without any laws or social rules to harass me.

I must allow the Idea to visit me of it's own accord. I am a peaceful person; more of a watcher than a hunter, despite my performance-image. And so, the demons come slowly and sensually, and I simply record them as they whisper in my ear.

What are some important words of wisdom that you'd like to share with other Goddesses out there?
