Total Eclipse of the Heart: The Super Blood Wolf Total Lunar Eclipse

“If you can’t love yourself how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?” - RuPaul

We are wrapping up eclipse season with a bang! The last eclipse, until the Summer, occurs in fiery Leo, ending the story from the New Moon July 27, 2017 and respectively from January 14, 2019, when key themes pertaining to this eclipse arose under the First Quarter Moon arose.

Under this eclipse, the Moon will be in close proximity to the Earth, forcing us to feel the emotional weight and depth of this passionate luminary. Feelings, which have been buried, will come to the surface as we let go of the past and move towards our next phase in life. We will be sacrificing people and situations who no longer serve our highest and truest purpose, making way only for that which serves to elevate our heart’s will and desire, while elevating our emotions to a feverish high.

The mythology behind the constellation Leo contradicts urban legend. However, important to understand to gain clarity around the energy of the eclipse. The Nemean Lion lured unsuspecting women to its cage, holding them captive, while enticing local warriors to save these “damsels in distress.” The trickster nature of the Lion was aimed to defeat and play mind games on others, to show the world that Leo was toughest and most powerful. Zeus quickly caught on to the duplicitous nature of the Lion and used his hands to defeat him and free his captives, rather than swords or weaponry. The lesson to be learned from the mythological tale, is to embrace bravery and to assert your will at all costs.

Firstly, understand this is the fable, Leo’s do not terrorize the land and cause harm to others (no shade is intended for all the Leo’s out there). The mythological tale denotes the other side to the Lion, one that will be seen in us all during the eclipse—that lesson being that we do not have to put on a false front for others. The women held captive is a metaphor for emotions and the enticement to fight with others is an allegory for bravado and pride. Unlike the Lion, we can embrace our darker side and help heal our wounds. Our shadow side will be exploited and seen under the Moon’s radiant glow. If not by others, but by ourselves. We will all see the parts of our lives that need to change and blossom. The eclipse gives us the foresight to see the edgier version of ourselves and emotions, giving us the opportunity to transform and nurture ourselves.

Secondly, please note that it’s OK to be selfish. We should all put our needs first ALWAYS. It’s important to take care of oneself before helping others. Setting boundaries and limits within relationships is important, and we shouldn’t apologize for focusing on our needs first, before we let others walk all over us. The most important person in your life is YOU.

Thirdly, we must embrace our emotions, by owning the rawest and purest sides to ourselves. Don’t hide from the truth. Get angry, feel hurt, fight for your beliefs, and be happy. As long as we are honest with ourselves, we can navigate through the 7 universal emotions (anger, fear, happiness, disgust, sadness, contempt, and surprise). Step into the light and let the eclipse help clear out our lingering sentiments by purging our shadow side.

Lastly, listen to your heart. Leo rules the heart chakra. Let your heart guide you. Skip out on the drama and move towards love. We must all let go of hurts and roar out our heart’s passions. Meditate on love. Meditate on truth. Meditate on the self. Then, let go. Commit only to the path of enlightenment, only then can we become the people we want to be. This eclipse falls at the critical degree of 0 Leo, which aims to show us that we must love ourselves MORE. The most complicated, intense, and rewarding relationship is the one we have with ourselves. How do we love and take care of ourselves? How can we improve our current situations? What have we learned since 2017? How have we evolved? What parts have we kept captive in the caves and depths of our existence? Just like the tale of the Nemean Lion, cradle and foster the parts that are yearning to break free and seen. No matter what obstacles are put in our way, we must fight for our selves, the hunger that is buried in our hearts—the parts of ourselves that we have ignored are yearning to be seen.

Create a Moon circle with friends and family to discuss goals, hurts, and feelings. This will help enlighten us all, making us all feel heard and cared for by others. Discussing fears and setbacks will help elevate the body, mind, and spirit—most importantly the heart—to take center stage while helping to evolve and heal. Allow the collective to help, as they listen deeply to us, letting us roar out our hearts.

*The eclipse occurs January 20th at 9:16PM PST and January 21st EST at 12:16AM.

WITCH TIPS

Written by Jessica Lanyadoo

Happy Halloween to everyone who celebrates! Feliz Día de los Muertos! To honor the dead is to honor life. Whatever you celebrate, this powerful time is a reminder to honor the Spirit world and those who have passed on – and to do so with respect, intention, and a loving heart.

On the 31st Venus retrograde will form an opposition to Uranus, setting the stage for social and romantic upsets and surprises. Around this date, try to have experiences with others for the sake of adventure and joy. The only thing you can count on under the influence of this event is that you can’t count on much. Relate to others without attachment, and if you can’t do that, be self-protective about how you relate at all. What you feel, learn, and even what you yearn for are all opportunities to better understand yourself. This is a moment that calls for you to investigate your values and whether or not your choices reflect them.

On the 5th the Sun will form a harmonious trine to idealistic Neptune. Pay close attention to your dreams around this date, and do something kind for others. This transit can increase your empathy or simply be a time for daydreaming. Do something that is bigger than you. Smile at a stranger. Take a play from the imitable Rachel Cargle and send $5-10 to a friend, and tell them how proud you are of them. Or, just get involved in something that you believe in and that will help the world at large.

Finally, on the 6th Uranus retrogrades back into Aries, where it will stay until March 2019. This is its last round in the sign of the individual and the perfect time to reflect on who you’re choosing to be. If you’re not living authentically, this can be a time of upsets as you have to feel the brunt of those compromises. Be weary of self-righteousness or defensive power plays; own your choices or change them up. You are entitled to act any kind of way, but you are not free from consequences. Freedom isn’t free; it comes with responsibility to yourself and to the larger world around you. You are free to bow out of society, ghost on your friends, or be a pushy jerk, but you’re not free from the impact that makes on others and thereby you.

Astrology teaches the interconnectedness of all people and things, as well as intentions. What you do, even in the private space of your own mind, is connected to your ancestors and to generations to come. When your individuality is expressed at the expense of the community, things tend to get complicated. Uranus governs rebellious, radical, and progressive energies, and Aries is a very me-first sign. Find your voice in the upheaval of the world, in efforts to make it a better place.

PS:

It’s election day in the USA on November 6th : VOTE VOTE VOTE! 🖤

ARIES

March 21-April 19

The reality is that you’re scared, and that fear doesn’t breed productivity or inspiration. Find your light, Aries. Instead of fixating on how much is in front of you, look up and concentrate on your calling or ability to do something about it. Align yourself with a motivating factor, and stay lit up by it. If you must act, direct your efforts toward creating something of value instead of running in circles. Strive to make a difference, this week.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20

Things are changing pretty quickly this week, and while it’s not bad, we all know you don’t love change. You may be overwhelmed by uncertainty, but don’t assume the worst, dear Taurus. You have the tools and resources to make the most of the situation you find yourself in, but it’s on you to remember to use them. Make choices that reflect your truth, not your scarcity issues; don’t let upsets inspire you to miss out on opportunity, my love.

GEMINI

May 21-June 21

If you allow yourself to act out of impulse, you’re unlikely to like what you get. Instead of rushing change, tolerate the feelings that come up for you about where you’re at and what it’ll cost you to get where you wanna be, Twin Star. This week will present you with all kinds of choices, and the only thing that’s for sure is that you have to change. Determining what is or isn't an improvement requires sitting with things. Whether or not you commit to doing that is up to you.

CANCER

June 22-July 22

There’s a bigger picture that you can’t see just yet, but it’s out there, Moonchild. You may find yourself getting caught up in power struggles or having to make concessions that you’d really rather not have to make. Don’t worry so much. If you’re acting in concert with your values and beliefs, you may not love what happens in the short term, but you’ll be pointing yourself in the right direction for the long-term. Believe in yourself, my love.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22

If you don’t have to fight, don’t do it, Leo. there’s chaotic energy all around you, and if you match it with your own intense energies, you’ll only add fuel to the fire. This week is going to test your ability to stand your ground when you’d rather pop off. It'll be well worth your effort. Let others reveal themselves to you, and really listen to what their actions say about who they truly are. Don’t be in such a rush to direct things that you miss out on the basics.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22

If you’ve been running yourself ragged, this week it’s time to reign it in, Virgo. When you’re over-stimulated, you tend to react with more criticism and less clarity, so remember to breathe, dear one. You need to make some clear-headed decisions now, and you'll find that other’s are invested in what you do – for better or for worse. Clarify what you need so that you can determine the difference between a good opportunity on paper versus a good opportunity for you.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

When the people around you are going through it, it can be hard to know how to best show up. Embody empathy instead of pity, compassion instead of servitude. This week will test your ability to show up in a way that helps. This may require that you put your judgments or your needs to the side for a minute. Give only what you can in a healthy way, Libra. Show up authentically, and know that just the act of being there is often what’s truly needed.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21

There’s no rush, dear Scorpio. So much is changing within and around you that you may be feeling restless and eager to shake things up. Be weary of the impulses that tell you it’s now or never, or that it's your way or no way at all. Compromise isn’t a weakening of your position. When it’s done with integrity, it’s a testament to your strength. Find approaches that support you and the world around you this week.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21

You can do it all, but you can’t do it all at once, Sagittarius. This week your enthusiasm and your energy level are not quite on par with each other. It’s OK to have vision and inspiration and to also pace yourself in how you execute your plans. It’s hard to know how to pace yourself; go to slow and that feels like a risk, and if you move too fast, you’ll feel overwhelmed - either way you have risk. What’s most important now is that you’re clear, not that you're there first, my love.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19

It’s fantastic to be driven by a sense of purpose, but inevitably, on any path uncertainty is something you must deal with. Don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater, Capricorn. This week may find you wrestling with curve balls or simply questioning yourself. Stay true to your sense of self, and if you don’t know quite what that means, take a step back from being so industrious and investigate it. Getting right with yourself isn’t a detour; it’s a shortcut.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 18

Growth and change, even when they yield improvements, are upsetting as they destabilize the status quo in your life. This week is likely to shake things up, and though it may be a bit uncomfortable, it’s absolutely not bad, Aquarius. Make it your goal to better understand your resistance to change. Some of the feels that are coming up for you may not make perfect sense in your situation, and that’s OK. Sometimes you need to go through it to get to it, my love.

PISCES

Feb. 19-March 20

There’s a fine lie between being busy and feeling like you’re drowning in it. Look at your commitments, and be honest about what you’re actually locked into, and where there’s flexibility. There needs to be a reshuffling of your day-to-day life, and that’s much harder to do when you're overwhelmed. You have a right to determine your limits and manage your time; it’s your job to exercise it, dear Pisces.

WITCH TIPS AND HOROSCOPES 10.17-23.2018

Written by Jessica Lanyadoo

We are living through a time in which we will either be transformed by acts of kindness, empathy, and unity, or we will succumb to the worst elements of society: fear, blame, and punishment. The transit of both Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn (until mid 2020) marks a turning point in humanity, and here’s a consistent component to every downturn in human history: fear. Fear of others, fear of survival, fear of judgment, and fear of difference. The only pragmatic way to battle this is by working together for a common goal, to commit to embodying our humanity, especially when scared or triggered. When we feel down, we can get stuck in paralysis, or worse, it can transform us into petty tyrants who feel entitled to everything because nothing feels good.

Don’t be that person. Don’t sink to the lowest level. If life is a game of rock, paper, scissors, rock doesn’t beat rock. In other words, cruelty doesn’t beat cruelty. Judgment doesn’t beat judgment.

Venus is still Retrograde (October 5th-November 16th, 2018), and this means we're at a particular stage in our journey where we’re meant to look at our values, women’s rights and place in society, money, gender, and of course, love.

This week we move into the sultriest season of the year – Scorpio season! On the 23rd, the Sun moves into Scorpio and instantly forms an opposition to explosive Uranus. This means that you can expect the unexpected around this date and that the energy you experience around this date will inform what’s to come this Scorpio Season. You may feel a tension between what you want and what you possess, or you may have a conflict between the various things you're willing to do for your desires. This transit brings about excitement, distraction, and innovation, and it heightens your restlessness and impulses. If you’re prone to irritability, you may feel extra annoyed, and if so, you’re probably bumping up against limitations. This is a good time to explore the concept of freedom in your life and to make the space to be true to yourself – at least in your thinking.

When we unpack all of the details, the planets' placements distill down to this: it’s time to practice kindness in your thinking, words, and actions. Notice when you’re being a jerk to yourself by minimizing or dramatizing your situation (they’re pretty much heads/tails of the same problem). Understand that your relationship to yourself is the foundation upon which you build everything and all that you do. Be patient as you learn new things about yourself, the world, and your role in it. This is the time to take responsibility for what you obsess on and to strive to keep it constructive.

When you feel anxious, gratitude is the key. It aligns you with what you have, and the attention you affix to your abundance is what makes your life more bountiful. This allows you to be generous with yourself and others, to actively support the world around you in small or big ways.

Don’t recoil from discomfort; it’s a teacher that you have much to learn from. Your life is so deeply valuable, and you make a difference. Treat the present like the gift that it is. Honor it today, try again tomorrow, and repeat.

ARIES

March 21-April 19

The role that fear plays in your life is really important, sweet Aries. Find ways of respecting your fears without indulging them and making them worse this week. Allow space for what you don’t know to unfold, and try to parse out what feels bad from what is actually bad for you. Here’s some homework for you: ask for help when you need it, take breaks to check in with yourself, and no catastrophizing! Strive to manage your feels with patience and strength.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20

When you’ve accepted too much mixed input, it can lead you to feel confused, demoralized, and unsure of what to do with yourself. This week calls for patience, Taurus. It’s unclear what’s coming for you, and you may even be forming a new understanding of past events. When the past and the future are both out of your hands, all you have is the present. Put all of your self-care tools to work, and strive to do your best in the here and now, my love.

GEMINI

May 21-June 21

The ego needs balance. When you feel good about yourself, it’s easier to be clear about your aims, to direct yourself in a way that works, and even to be responsive to the world around you. When you feel utterly down on yourself, you can get stuck in inactivity, or worse, act out of integrity because of how bad you feel. Seek balance so that you don’t find yourself needing to work off an ego hangover. Transform that ego into a friend you can rely on this week.

CANCER

June 22-July 22

Make it your mission to find evidence of your own strength, Moonchild. You are a force to be reckoned with! This week it’s time to stop comparing yourself to others, to where you want to be, or to where you once were, and it's time to embrace the person that you are in the here and now. It’s only by embracing this moment and your place in it that you can determine which are the healthiest boundaries. This will in turn free you up to do what you’re meant to do.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22

When you can’t figure things out, it’s often a sign to slow down. The path to growth and expansion sometimes involves retraction. In order to have the life you want to live, you have to first strive to become the person you want to be. This week is about that striving. Don’t look so far outside of yourself that you miss out on the most simple and impactful source of change – you. Gather your strength, and with it will come your sense of purpose, Leo.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22

Open up and let go, Virgo. There’s no stopping progress, and that’s as it should be, even if it doesn’t feel like it. This week will challenge you to become the person that you want to be, but the weight and stories of the past will try to keep you as you were. Be sincere, Virgo. Even if things move slower or in a more circuitous way than you’d prefer, this is the time to be present and to focus on your efforts and not fixate on the outcome.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

When you hurt or your heart is heavy, it’s easy to lash out, shut down, or generally be out of sorts in how you relate to yourself and others. This week your job is to practice kindness and empathy. Go beyond the surface of your situation, and embody the openness and support that you believe everyone deserves to be afforded. You need to let go of something, but you don’t need to do it today. Be patient with your process, Libra.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21

There’s no way to grow without outgrowing some things, Scorpio. As you expand into the person you mean to be, there are inevitably people, attitudes, and attachments that you will have to shed. This week is likely to bring you the chance to put into practice some wisdom you’ve earned, but it may come at some personal cost. Do what’s right, even when it’s scary, my love. You can’t lose anything of value when you’re following your truth.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21

FOMOS is real, but it won’t help you get very far in life. Try to not get so turned around that you lose track of what you care about and why, sweet Sagittarius. This week will present you with choices, and if you aren’t clear about your motivations, you may get overwhelmed and not know which shiny thing to chase. Stay true to your heart. Align yourself with what brings you joy and does the most good, and you won’t miss out on anything that you need.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19

Abundance isn’t about having lots of things. To have true abundance, you need to actually feel it. When you focus on what you might lose, it’s almost like you never truly have a thing. Look around your life, Cappy, and consider the bounty that you have. Be grateful for your health, the love, your possessions, or whatever you value. Next, align yourself with the knowledge that you can improve those things over time. Enjoy what you have in this moment, my love.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 18

You don’t need to know what comes next, or why that thing happened yesterday; the story may be compelling, but it’s not as important as how you choose to respond to it all, Aquarius. If you can move away from thinking that things have to happen tit for tat, you can actually be more efficient with how you use your energy. You determine your actions, and you decide how you to engage with your obsessions and your dreams. Don’t look for blame, look within.

PISCES

Feb. 19-March 20

If you’ve been burning yourself out lately, it’s on you to name your limits and enforce them. Stop waiting for others to agree with you or see things from your vantage point. It’s OK to go your own way, even if that means walking alone for some time. You have agency, and this is the time to use it; deal head-on with your fears and hopes, both for your life and for the world around you, Pisces.

WITCH TIPS

Written by Jessica Lanyadoo

Welcome to Virgo Season! This week marks a time to shift gears from the mishegas of recent weeks into a slightly more introspective time. It's time to check in with your body and ensure that you’re treating it as your BFF instead of a casual acquaintance. If you have more screen-time than me-time, this is the perfect season for a cleanse. Tend to your daily habits, the stuff that's easy to miss in the business of living a hectic life. Slow down a bit and connect to the grounded embodiment of Mercury (now no longer Retrograde, thank all that is good and holy!) that is unique to the sign Virgo. Take stock of how your plans are coming to bear in your life. Make adjustments, follow through, and solidify your ideas based on the data you’ve collected so far this year. Life constantly presents us with new visions and opportunities for growth and change; Virgo Season is a beautiful one for getting serious about what you do and making sure that it’s paired up with who you want to be.

On the 26th, we have an intense Full Moon in Pisces and a compulsive Venus square to Pluto. The potential here is great, but it comes with some risk, too. There is an energetically powerful Kite (an aspect that involves an opposition, a Grand Trine and two sextiles) happening with this Full Moon. Saturn, Uranus, and the Sun are all in a Grand Earth Trine, while the Moon, which is opposite the Sun, will be forming sextiles to both Saturn and Uranus. All of this presents us with amazing potential for seeing things clearly and making plans for your future that are wisely informed by both your past and your present.

The tricky part comes from the Venus/Pluto transit; these two planets are likely to stir the pot, as they’ll trigger jealousy, vengefulness, and fears of abandonment. Don’t look for evidence that something is wrong; if you’re going to Sherlock Holmes a thing, do it without an agenda, or don’t do it at all. The Pisces full Moon is a chance to let go of illusions that have kept you separate. Connect your thoughts to your feelings, your feelings to your delivery, and your delivery to how others receive you. Understand that you can’t exactly let go of the past. You can let go of your attachment to it, but your past is yours. You will always refer back to it, and that’s as it should be. It’s OK to be imperfect, to not know what comes next, and to have mixed feelings about it. Don’t be so quick to find the answer that you rush past the process. This week you don’t need proof, you need faith, dear lovers.

ARIES

March 21-April 19

In order to move beyond your own limitations, you must first be confronted by them. This week is complicated, and you can expect the full Moon on the 27th to kick up some surprising feels. Don’t resist it, Aries. If you’re willing to let go of what no longer serves you, you can make way for something new. Yes, you may have to suffer through some grief in the middle, but feelings come and go. Don’t let the tough ones stop you from growing to your full potential.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20

You’re making choices, and even if you feel mixed about them, they’re yours. It’s time to create something that you value, Taurus. What you do now will have roots and grow into something much bigger than you, so make sure that you believe in what you’re doing, or at least leave enough wiggle room for adjustments. You’re pointed in the right direction. Just don’t let your desire for certainty rush you past this very important stage of development, Taurus.

GEMINI

May 21-June 21

It’s easy to have balance when everything is going your way, but when circumstances destabilize you, that's when you need it most. When you feel inundated this week (as you are likely to), it’s a chance for you to be kind. Choose to take care of yourself by responding to your stressors one at a time, instead of allowing yourself to get overwhelmed by everything. Do what you can at this moment and let the rest wait for you until you’re ready for it, Twin Star.

CANCER

June 22-July 22

It doesn’t need to be perfect, or even what you think it ‘should’ be, in order for it to be exactly what you need. This week will confront you with a pretty simple situation that feels really complicated. Don’t confuse potential with reality or the past with the present, Moonchild. Accept things as they are in the present moment, and do what you need to in order to grow. Nothing stays the same, nor is it meant to. Actively co-create your life, my love.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22

Love has a funny way of changing a person. This week your relationships will expose an important point of development. If you find that you're unhappy or that your needs aren’t being met, it’s wise for you to pay close attention to that. You’re at a point where the truth of what exists between you and others is being revealed. Receive what you’re being shown and believe it. If you’ve been phoning it in with your people, they may hold you to task. Either way, it’s time to face your relationships, Leo.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22

Find life-affirming ways of being with your emotions. Sadness sucks, but it happens for a reason. If you’re willing to investigate your feels, you can determine what you’re really sad about, but if you can’t sit with them at all, how will you ever know? This week’s full Moon in your relationship house is supposed to be emo, so don’t resist it, Virgo. Show up for the messiness of how you feel so that you can better co-create what you need.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

When you don’t have what you want, it’s tempting to make negative assumptions about what that means. The truth is that your story is still unfolding, Libra. You are a work in development, and its beautiful and uncertain and yours. Find a spark of desire within you, and then pursue it. You don’t need to be anywhere but here. Do your best with what you’ve got instead of wasting your energy on wishing you had something else, my love.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21

If you’ve taken on too many commitments or too much emotionally, this week’s full Moon is likely to make you feel super burnt out. Try to find a balance between what you need to get done and what you need in order to feel right in your skin, Scorpio. This week is not meant to challenge you to do more at a quicker pace. It’s meant to challenge you to do more things in high quality ways. Let go of control or the desire to prove yourself, and try to find wellness in your process.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21

It can be a fine line between showing up for others and taking on their problems. This week you're likely to be called in to be there for someone you care about, and it may seem impossible to help without getting too deep with them. How you participate is a reflection of your own boundaries. Do your best to honor your relationships, but only give what you can without resentments this week.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19

The time it takes to get there may be paved with ‘what ifs’ but don’t let it bother you; you’ve got this, Capricorn. This week you need your ego to help you move your life forward. This requires that it’s in reasonably good shape – not too big and not too small. Work on your sense of entitlement to make sure that it reflects what you actually believe – not your baggage. Peace lives in the place between knowing your value and never placing it over others in order to feel okay about yourself.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 18

As you grow, you’re inevitably going to outgrow some people, situations, and things that you’ve been identified with. Things are changing for you, Aquarius, and while it’s not clear what exactly comes next, it’s looking really good. Make the best possible choices based on who you want to be and where you hope to land this month, even if that means spending more time alone or participating in the world less.

PISCES

Feb. 19-March 20

The Moon is full in your sign on the 26th, marking this as a powerful time for you to do emotional work on yourself. Emotions will be running high this week, but the thing to remember is that this is a time for closure. You don’t need to justify or defend yourself. Believe in yourself enough to validate your own feels and needs, even if others don’t understand it. You’re ready to make some deep changes in your life, but you need to start with you, dear Pisces.

WITCHTIPS & HOROSCOPES ~6-20-26/2018

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: there is no separation between the political and the spiritual. None. What you do unto others, the injustices you’re able to justify, and the tragedies you’re comfortable regarding as “other people’s problems” are all true reflections of your Soul – the one and only thing that get to take with you when you leave this life. Don’t allow apathy or overwhelm to stop you from caring about others. You have a voice, and no matter how tiny it is, if you use it to resist hatred and oppression, you will be joining a chorus of others. Together we can direct the course of history and avoid making the grotesque mistakes we made the last time that Uranus was in Taurus (1934-1942).

Children are being ripped from their parents and guardians; parents are not being told where their children are. These children are being incarcerated in tent cities, buildings with no windows, and in metal cages. If you don’t know what concentration camps are, now’s the time to do a simple Internet search, because these camps are terrifyingly similar. It’s time to educate yourself and to do something. History can (and often does) repeat itself, but it doesn’t have to. If you think that all of this is separate from astrology, I assure you that it’s not. We have some dangerous transits reiterating now that we also saw during WW2, so let’s not make the same mistakes. I promise that your horoscope is below, but know this: you, your liberty, and your wellness do not exist in a vacuum. Your liberty is interwoven with that of others. When your money, good mood, safety, etc is won at someone else’s expense, your good fortune is simply not in alignment with your Soul – regardless of your Sun sign or this week’s horoscope.

Let me share with you this poem by Pastor Niemöller, written after World War 2*, that truly says it all.

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—

Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

The demographics may be different, but the meaning is clear. As a family of humans, we must protect each other from powers that seek to do us harm. There are no more excuses; the time is now to make your voice heard.

Things are moving fast, and this week the astrology comes at us quick. This week starts off with a lovely Mercury trine to mystic Neptune on the 20th. This transit will bring with it a spike in empathy, and it’s exactly what you need if you’ve got conflicts to reconcile or have been creatively stuck. Expect your ideas to flow, even though this won’t give you any motivation to get things done. If you try you can make inspired headway.

This energy follows us into day one of Cancer Season, which starts on the 21st, with a dynamic Venus opposition to Mars. This shift brings us to a greater concern for family and a time for tending house. Look to your foundational relationships and the people you call home; these transits give you the energy you need to tend to who and what you care about. This week is a big emo shift, so if you find yourself irritable, don’t freak out! Your best bet is to strive to understand the source of your upset so that you can nurture yourself effectively.

Luckily, on the 22nd we have a Sun sextile to Saturn that will help you do just that. This transit is excellent for getting to work. If you need to practically understand something, make a plan, or even just get to the gym, this shift will help you achieve it. Saturn can help you reach some much needed perspective in order to make wise choices. It can also help you to generally follow through with your plans and commitments, so do try to make use of this energy.

Finally we have the belly-puncher of the week; on the 23rd Mercury in Cancer forms a contentious opposition to Pluto in Capricorn. This combination is likely to intensify your thinking and can lead you down some thorny pathways if you’re not careful. Pluto governs paranoia and obsessions, and its energies can be quite vengeful. Pick your battles wisely as you may need to stand up or sit TF down this week. When you catch yourself running over the same self-defenses in your mind, it’s a sign that you don’t totally believe what you’re saying. Pluto can also signify a time of breakthroughs, healing, and resolution. If it can’t be chill, just make sure that it’s healing, my loves.

PS: On the 26th Mars goes Retrograde for the first time since 2016, and it will stay that way until August 27th. This is a really big deal, and I’ll tell you all about it in next week’s forecast, I promise. xo

* To clarify: human rights atrocities are not in any way isolated to the internment or concentration camps of WW2, or the oppression that thrived in that period. Some major astrology of that period is reoccurring currently, and this is specifically why I am referring to that period.

ARIES

March 21-April 19

If you allow your anxieties or feelings of overwhelm to direct your actions, you’ll only succeed in generating more things to be upset by. Take a step back so that you can assess what needs attention versus what needs soothing, Aries. What you don’t know could end up becoming a liability or a wonderful surprise; the point is that you don’t yet know, so why assume the worst? Find ways of seeking the best in situations that trigger you this week.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20

In order to have something you really want, you may have to give up something you cherish. The most important thing you can do this week is make sure that you’re making choices from a place of self-knowledge. Don’t make your moves with the motive of keeping up with the Jones’s or pleasing others. Nothing is totally free – including freedom. Make compromises, but only bend on things that won’t make you break. Don’t compromise what you believe in, Taurus.

GEMINI

May 21-June 21

Uncertainty is part of life. The important thing is that you resist the temptation to fill in the blanks with stories just because you’re uncomfortable not knowing what’s up. This week may involve some waiting or feeling stymied. Instead of fighting it, try taking this as an opportunity to be interested in your own responses. How you feel in reaction to the people and things around you says just as much about you as it does them. Take the time to listen, Twin Star.

CANCER

June 22-July 22

This is the start of Cancer Season – it’s your time, Moonchild! Too much of a good thing is still too much. Support your emotions solidly and in ways that don’t demand you leave the house or spend a bunch of money. Eat conscientiously, drink lots of water, practice breathing through upsets, and try to get enough sleep this week. How you treat your body will set the stage for your ability to pair intention with your responses during this very emo week.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22

Things may not be as you wish they were, but that doesn’t mean you’re stuck. You have options, and if you’re willing to look creatively at them, you may be pleasantly surprised at what you find is possible. Leverage the resources you already have at your disposal to help you without taking on any new debts this week. If you can work with what you have, you’ll find that you generate abundance in your life and in the lives of others, Leo.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22

Letting go is hard and scary and painful, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it. This week will confront you with the need for change. You can convince yourself that everyone around you needs to change, but it’s not true. Either you need to shift something within you or it’s time to change your actions. If something isn’t working for you, it’s your job to advocate for your needs. If what you’re doing isn’t working, try something new, sweet one.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

Use what isn’t working as motivation, Libra. You’re so capable and full of love to share, but certain things are weighing you down. If you try to evade them, you’ll end up feeling off-kilter and then eventually confused. Instead, try to acknowledge whatever is stuck or broken, and strive to make it right

again. You have what you need, but there is no perfect moment. Now is as good a time as any to take care of business.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Something’s going on within you, and it’s confusing. It’s like you know yourself better than ever before, and at the same time, you’re totally uncertain. Regardless of your age, you’re growing up. This week is a good one to spend some time catching up with all the changes – the setbacks, the advantages, and all that’s yet TBD. As you plot your next moves, remember that things are not always as they at first appear to be, Scorpio.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21

Follow through, Sagittarius. It’s time to transform your ideas into actions and to streamline your actions into something you can sustain. You have a special gift that the world needs. You’re ready to confront your own limitations, even if it kicks up a case of the sads. Embrace both the light and the shadow that it casts. Stop wasting your time wishing you were somewhere else. Accept where you’re starting from, pick yourself up, and get to work, my love.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19

You don’t have to take on other people’s BS. You don’t have to fight, and you don’t need to stick around if you feel that someone is trying to pick one. How you respond to other people is likely to be a bit tricky this week as tensions flare. Take stock of what you’re willing to participate in and how because that stuff is all you, Cappy. When in doubt, consider more viewpoints than your own, and take the most compassionate approach available to you.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 18

Your sign is excellent at figuring out creative solutions to big problems. What you’re not as naturally great at is tolerating the feels that come up while you’re unpacking those problems though. Strive to hit a sweet spot between repressing your feels and drowning in them, Aquarius. This isn’t the right time to add a great deal more to your plate or to take anything new on. For best results, deal directly with the things that are bothering you this week.

PISCES

Feb. 19-March 20

You can’t stop the world from turning, and you can’t make totally safe choices that are free from consequence. Your ‘what ifs’ may be getting the better of you this week, but there’s an opportunity in that mess. When you catch yourself spinning into chaotic ideas, it means you’ve lost track of your breath. Prioritize getting grounded in your body – even if it’s uncomfortable to do – before you chase your anxious thoughts down any rabbit holes, Pisces.

WITCH TIPS

There’s so much going on this week that it’s important to remember to breathe. The bottom line is that life is not a collection of details – it’s the whole picture. You may be having a rough time now, but that doesn’t mean that you will tomorrow. If you find that you’re losing perspective, take a step back and take a moment to get present. You don’t need to be perfect, you only need to be whole. You don’t need to know what’s coming next, you only need to do your best in the here and now.

From the 27th-29th, there will be an irritating square between Mercury and Mars at the same time as an intense sextile between Mercury and Pluto. This is an excellent time to sort through your taxes, study for an exam, or generally sift through a lot of data that is both detailed and finite. The problem here is that you can get fixated on something that bothers you and then justify obsessing on it, even if all that does is make you cray. If you catch yourself caught up in petty, vengeful, or micromanaging thoughts, try to make the decision to redirect. It won’t be easy, but it’s for sure the healthiest thing you can do.

On the 1st we have a fertile Full Moon in Virgo at 4:51pmPST. What are you willing to let go of in order to make room for something better? The Sun is in idealistic Pisces, while the Moon is in boots-on-the-ground Virgo. It's time to pour your heart and efforts into what you love. How can you love what you have to do, even when it’s a boner? This is a period to explore the idea of perfection; what is it, really? Find it in the mundane, in the profane, in the weeds, and in the valleys. Perfection is right here, right now because the present moment could be no other way than as it is. Perfection requires presence and acceptance – not an OCD attention to purity but an embracing of this moment – the good, the bad, and the ugly of it.

Let go of distractions, and be here for the beauty of what is. Gear your actions in service to what you can help improve. This isn’t the time to lament what could’ve or should’ve been. Deal directly with what is, and try to let go of what doesn’t serve that purpose.

From the 3rd-5th, we have another anxiety provoking transit, when the self-centered Sun sits on top of identity-blurring Neptune. Some of the themes that were upsetting you last week are likely to come back up. You may feel anxious, depleted, inspired, or just plain old loopy. The trick here is to have healthy boundaries. Strive to know where you begin and where you end, what you want versus what you think you should want. This transit is an opportunity to get right with yourself, but that may happen by becoming aware of where you’re wrong. Don’t be a droopy dude – it’s OK to make mistakes. Be kind and patient and use your struggles as building blocks. Wisdom comes from experience, so don’t sit this one out.

ARIES

March 21-April 19

You’re on your way, Aries. You’ve been working so hard; your efforts are paying off, so keep on doing what you’re doing. The only problems you’re likely to confront this week are around the things you’ve been willfully ignoring or have just lost track of. Treat your anxieties or confusion this week as a gentle nudge to pay closer attention – not to check out. Complete success requires that you integrate the whole, so pick up the pieces, even when it’s uncomfortable.

TAURUS

April 20-May 20

If you’re not careful, your ego will get you into some serious trouble this week. People are weird. They act hot and cold, they have reactions you don’t see coming, and sometimes they like music you think is bad (how rude!). When people do mysterious things, it’s not a reflection on you, and this week you can expect people to be especially odd. Don’t take it personally, Taurus, and don’t try to process with others when you’re feeling extra bad.

GEMINI

May 21-June 21

Peace isn’t about being happy all the time – it’s about being in alignment with yourself. If you’re of many minds about a situation, it’s hard to know which one to act on. Spend time this week reminding yourself of your big picture goals, so you can determine what is a good goal versus what’s a good goal for now. This is an excellent time to do a reset, but if it’s not based on self-knowledge, it’s just you chasing another white rabbit down a random hole.

CANCER

June 22-July 22

There’s such a thing as too much, and when you cross a line past what you can handle in a healthy way, things start to fall apart. It’s time to let go, Moonchild. You may need to forgive, you may need to stop obsessing, or your path may look more like quitting a job or taking a break from a relationship, but at the end of the day, it’s all the same. You need to take responsibility for what you sign up for and be willing to step back when necessary, my love.

LEO

July 23-Aug. 22

Don’t try to find solutions before you fully understand your problems, Leo. Pain is a bummer of a teacher, but that doesn’t mean that it’s got no value. Chill isn’t on the agenda this week, but that’s kinda perfect in in it’s own way; the stuff that feels bad is trying to get your attention so that you can finally do something about it. You want security, but first you’ve gotta find the truth. You want happiness, so it’s time to finally let go of what you know brings you no joy.

VIRGO

Aug. 23-Sept. 22

The Moon is full in your sign on the 1st, and it’s a fertile time for you, Virgo. It’s time to let it all go: your plans, your drive for perfection, your desire to have all the answers at this moment. They all have their value, but they can also be a distraction. Get aligned with what you’re grateful for in the here and now. You have so many advantages, but you can’t make use of them if you’re wrapped up in what’s out of your control. Find ways to say yes this week.

LIBRA

Sept. 23-Oct. 22

Fear is compelling. Even when you don’t want to listen to it, we humans are hard-wired to protect our safety, and a good part of that is by tracking danger. The trouble is that if you’re looking for problems, they’re easy enough to find. This week you’re making breakthroughs and are exactly where you need to be – so don’t push it. Don’t rush for answers or try to press people. Manage your feels, and let things fall into place around you, Libra.

SCORPIO

Oct. 23-Nov. 21

Don’t let your worries drag you down, Scorpio. You’ve got enough real-life problems to contend with that it makes no sense to wring your hands over what-ifs and coulda-woulda-shoulda’s. Strive to take control of where you allow your thoughts to go this week. If you catch yourself on an unproductive train of thought, rein yourself in with a spiritual mantra or a pleasant thought – it doesn’t really matter. Find healthy distractions for your unhealthy habits this week.

SAGITTARIUS

Nov. 22-Dec. 21

You’re strong enough to change what needs to be changed, but are you willing to do the work? The hard part isn’t following through; it’s identifying what needs to get done. Don’t let your FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) lead you astray, Sagittarius. While you may be capable of doing it all, no one can do it all well. Reconnect with your primary objectives, and then make your choices in deference to them.

CAPRICORN

Dec. 22-Jan. 19

No matter how quickly or slowly things are changing, changing they are, my love. This week you’ve got one job, Cappy, and it’s emotional integration. Allow space and time for your feels to catch up with your circumstances. This is essential for being healthy, of course, but also for you to be able to know what should come next. It’s time to be careful about what you ask for because you just might get it. It’s better to slowly get there with a clear heart than to look back with regrets.

AQUARIUS

Jan. 20-Feb. 18

If you don’t like the way your hair looks, changing your clothes won’t help you much. Try not to react to upsets this week with distractions, no matter how dynamic they seem. Life right now is a bit of a mixed bag, and that’s OK. What you most likely want to do is focus on what you know how to handle, but that’s not wise, Aquarius. Take small steps towards figuring out what’s not clear to you, and let everything else just simmer this week.

PISCES

Feb. 19-March 20

Let people love you, Pisces. Let the Sun warm you, and let cats charm you, and receive the gift that is this life. What others think about you is important information, but it won’t define you if you don’t let it. Choose to align yourself with what’s positive and future-focused so that you don’t lose yourself in the heavy stuff this week. In order to truly know yourself, you must also know what you’re not.
